The Old Bazaar was absolutely perfect! I wanted to stay in a traditional hotel/house in Gjirokaster and I was not disappointed by the beautiful room -with a small patio and view of the mosque --with its impeccable decorations and gorgeous furniture. The owner has paid attention to every detail, while integrating modern "creature comforts". The bathroom was spacious and had an ample walk-in shower. The common areas for breakfast were absolutely divine with a gorgeous view of the valley below. I cannot rave enough about the hospitality. Both the owner and her staff, especially the evening/overnight doorman host, were beyond kind and helpful. He especially had lots of tips of where to go in town, and was helpful arranging a taxi to my bus, among other things. The breakfast was fabulous and abundant: fruits, cheese, eggs, Albanian pancakes and honey, delicious coffee and fresh cool water from the local spring. Please make sure you eat a lot because the staff puts tremendous effort and love into this breakfast and it shows. I left early in the morning, and the same evening/night host arranged to have the breakfast ready for me an hour early. I hadn't asked, but it was this sort of attention to detail that makes this place very special. I was disappointed only that I had just two nights here and couldn't stay longer in Gjirokastër. It is a charming town with incredible views, and a slow pace. Enjoy your time!

This hotel was absolutely amazing, mostly due to the incredible staff, particularly Anila, who was just the loveliest and kindest of persons. She and her male colleague (I forgot his name) treated us beautifully, including making sure we had something to eat and coffee before our early departure. They know how to provide excellent customer service. The location of the hotel is the best in Gjirokaster, located right in the center of the old city and close to the old house museums, the castle fortress, and the old bazaar and restaurants. You couldn’t find a more convenient location in Gjirokaster. Finally, we had the King Suite (Room 206), which was magical and made us feel like we were back in time and staying like a Pasha in the best room in the city. This hotel was absolutely superb in every way!

Perfect location, historical building, personnel very helpful and friendly (especially the man on the nightshift). Breakfast typical for Albania: fried eggs, fried sausages, tomato, cucumber, bread and different marmelades. When I asked for gluten free breakfast (celiac disease) they managed to make it possible. I haven't yet found gluten free bread in Albania! They have a few hotel parking spots, but there's also a parking lot right behind the hotel.

Very well located, a stone throw away from the Old Town and the Old Bazaar. Very quiet at night. Both building and interior are Ottoman style, which is very charming. The room is comfortable with all the necessities. The Albanian breakfast is massive and tasty, with a view over the mountain and the old Ottoman houses. And, the staff is kind and always willing to help you. Thank you again !

Loved the traditional decor and the big spacious room. It’s an amazing location in the immediate vicinity of the old Bazaar. The host at reception and Anilla who handles the bookings, were very friendly, welcoming and accomodating. We had to leave the hotel early on our last day, so they ensured breakfast was ready for us a half hour earlier than the usual time.
